The Story Behind Roundtree & Yorke
Roundtree & Yorke is the men’s label of Dillard’s, the retailer William T. Dillard opened in Nashville, Arkansas in 1938 and later grew from a Little Rock headquarters into a department store chain across the Sun Belt and well beyond it.
Dillard Department Stores filed the Roundtree & Yorke trademark in December 1994, covering knit and woven shirts, dress shirts, shorts, belts, swimwear, outerwear, ties, socks and robes. That breadth still shapes the assortment three decades on.

The label is a Dillard’s exclusive, stocked in Dillard’s stores and on dillards.com rather than through other retailers. Listings do appear on marketplaces such as eBay, but those items are secondhand.
Gold Label sits at the top of the shirting range, built from finer pinpoint and twill cottons with a non-iron treatment. It usually carries a modest premium over the core sport shirts.
Owners commonly report hanging them straight from the dryer and wearing them as they are. A quick touch-up on the collar and cuffs helps once a shirt has spent a few days folded in luggage.
Slim, fitted, full and classic fits are all offered, plus a dedicated big-and-tall selection. Sizing follows the usual neck-and-sleeve system, so measurements read as 16-34 or 17-35.
TravelSmart is the performance trouser group, cut from gabardine and cotton-poly blends that resist wrinkling. Many styles include a waistband with a couple of inches of give, and both chinos and dress pants appear under the name.
